Just Another March Day in Lake County

So we woke up this morning to about 5-6 inches of snow, but with the temp. around 40 for most of the day, it was already beginning to melt. We put Fin in her snow suit (thanks Uncle Larry and Aunt Fran) and took her out to play with the dogs. She loves being outside, so she is really looking forward to spring.

Then, Finley and Shelley needed to get ready for Opening Day, so they went to the store to get new Cubs shirts. We haven't been able to find as many toddler shirts for her as we were onesies, but at least she has a new hat, too.

Then, lunch today at Noodles and Company - a big bowl of Wisconsin Mac & Cheese.
Finally, a close-up. Not for the end results of lunch, but if you click on the picture to open it up, you can tell Finley is getting more teeth. She now has four on top and another tooth on the bottom has broken the skin completely and another is just breaking through. A total of 7 1/2 isn't too bad yet.

Fin still isn't walking on her own -- she uses the couch, tables, Dixie, or us to walk, but she is increasingly trying to stand, so we think it could happen any day now. Based on all of the incident reports we get from day care, it seems she is trying to walk there, too.

In memory - Great Grandma Iris

Finley's Great Grandmother Iris Conor passed away on March 15th. Her funeral is today and while Finley is too young to remember Iris, at least Iris was able to spend time with Finley. She was here for Finley's baptism, baby shower, and got to play with Fin several other times. Here are a few pictures.

Below is a link to a video of her life. Rest in peace, Iris.

Finley's New Food Game & Chipotle

Last night, Finley had fun at Chipotle -- she loves her cheese quesadilla and tomatoes.

Then, the inevitable bath.

Finley has discovered how much fun it is to throw food -- much to Jack's delight. While Monty has an incredibly quick first step for a gal her size, Finley can't see her from the high-chair. As a result, Jack gets most of the food thrown to him -- as you can see.

Finley & Food

As a true Weinstein -- the Hoschek side certainly contributes, as well -- Finley really seems to enjoy eating. As such, here are some recent pictures that show Finley's relationship to food.

We're big fans of Finley and "Naked Spaghetti." Last night, she went from dinner and diaper straight into the bath.

This was Finley's first Chinese yesterday for brunch -- she was a big fan. Sizzling rice soup, beef and noodles, fruit, and a fortune cookie.

When Finley went back to Burlington a couple of weeks ago, Finley was introduced to Chipotle. She really liked Mexican and when we went to Tacos el Norte a week later, she was eating avocado and tacos straight off my plate.

Finley's 1st Birthday - Iowa Edition

We all went back for Uncle Shae's Burlington wedding reception last weekend, at which point we celebrated Finley's birthday again. We were all at Aunt Stephie's house, which is on the historical registry, and the whole Burlington family was there.

This time, she didn't waste any time enjoying the pure sugar rush from the frosting -- you'll see.

Finley's First Birthday Pictures

What are the first signs of spring -- not Punxsutawney Phil, but Fin's birthday. Here are some pictures from the latest photo shoot her mother dragged her to. Finley tried to tell her mother she couldn't wear white until after Easter, but she wouldn't listen.
