Hello Fall!

Hello October and the wonderful season of fall!  Here are a few snapshots from around the house.  As you can see we have been having Indian summer weather, hence the bare legs.

We are eagerly anticipating Halloween, but really, isn't any old day a good day to play dress up?  This particular day had a cowboys-n-tutus theme.

This horse is not represented to scale.

A favorite activity of both girls is to remove every toy from the toy baskets and hide/play in them.  This is also hours of fun to pick up, too.

This dog is to scale and does not at all mind being sat on....ahhhh.

We went to the zoo over the long and beautiful Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, and the merry-go-round was a favorite and naturally cost extra.

Harper's first trip to the zoo and merry-go-round ride - big day for her!

We had to ride it more than once - "mo ride" is what Harper kept repeating!

Finley liked the statues of the animals better than the real animals.

Two of our favorite real animals.

Some people needed a cat nap mid-zoo visit - but those people had to push the stroller and nativigate around the rather large zoo.  It will not surprise anyone who knows Matt - but he ofcourse wore the wrong shoes, and surprisely I did, too!

Look, girls, the giraffes!

They rallied to sit on some more statues at the end of our visit.

Harper is taking a class called "Movers and Shakers" once a week with me.  At the end of each class, after singing, dancing, and playing, we make a craft.  This was a whole turkey apple to begin with, but quickly turned from craft to snack.  In her defense, she wasn't the only kid in the class to eat her craft, but she was possibly the first.  And, Matt doubts paternity?

Like I said earlier, we are really excited for Halloween.  And, I know, every year I say that I am not going to buy another dog costume - but a pegasus/unicorn could not be passed up!

This look is known as the doggie death stare!!!

Side/close-up view of the costume.

"Girls, take me out of this now before I bite you!"

More of the Hoscheks in Canada...and the neverending wedding in the Catskills!

Just teasing with the video...I can't seem to figure out how to delete it!!!
Naked cousins in the bathtub...one little boy was NOT digging the bubbles!

One cute tushy showing...maybe that is why he is mad????

Jack loves his girlfriend Aunt Sammie, who is naturally relaxing.

Look at cousin snuggle buddies - Teddy and FiFi and Dixie!

It is big for Dixie to come into the living room when she knows the gate might shut at any moment.  This means she really loves her Grandpa Steve!!!

True love - look at that closeness!!!!

Back to before we left for THAT wedding in the Catskills...

The smile is so innocent; she has no idea what is to come with Tropical Storm Irene.

AHHHH youth...

This is the picture of the parking lot next to our cabins - some mini-waterfalls after 24 hours of rain!

On the other side of the cabins, we find a mudslide.

Another view of the mud and rocks covering the road.

Notice the stranded golf cart - no worries it got rescued and was good to go.

Just a couple of rocks on the road, but at least there was still a road...

Not as lucky at this section of the road!

Another view of the missing road from below.

Some of the devastation we saw when we were allowed to leave.

Same house - obviously off the foundation.

Hope this car was insured!!!

This is the opposite direction of the road from the previous one I showed - it was washed away in both directions from our resort!  This is the temporary foot and car bridge built, so we could finally get out!

Shortly after we left, the girls showed their exhaustion!

One pretty picture of the Catskills for the memory since I will never, ever return!  It was a nice wedding though; congrats Mr. & Mrs. Weinstein!
