I went over to see Fin at lunch today and she was in the pose below when I got there -- knees tucked under, ankles crossed, and only one shoe and sock on. This picture is from just 30 minutes ago.

Finley Sleeping
So my father noted that all we seem to post is pictures of Finley eating, which after a weekend here, he discovers she does often -- and with gusto. Babies mostly do two other things frequently, too, sleep and poop (not that he touched a diaper this weekend).

The picture below is from last week when she was home sick in her crib -- note the nearly exact positioning. She makes us laugh everyday.

Cinco de Mayo & Grandpa's Visit
Last week, Finley came down with another ear infection, which required us to keep her home from school on Tuesday, which happened to be Cinco de Mayo. As Mexican is one of Finley's favorite foods (we're not sure what are her least favorite, frankly), we went to Chipotle for lunch, as you'll see below. Her dish is the cheese quesadilla and a cup of the mild tomato salsa.

While she's eating -- notice the fork in her right hand; it is only for show.

We met up with our friend Mike Mercure that night down in the city. Finley wanted to pop her collar like all the cool kids do.

Finley Stands . . . and eats sushi
I love the picture of Finley reaching for the sushi at the restaurant last weekend -- she loves food and is pretty fearless when it comes to trying new things. Verdict -- she liked the rice, thought the salmon was good, and the egg sushi was OK. Really likes the boiled soybeans.

As a follow-up to the video of her walking with her hand on the chair last week, here is one of her standing from earlier this week -- she is very excited, as you will see. Enjoy.

Finley Walks -- Sort of
Finley has been walking up a storm, as we've told you, but only with her hand on something. We've never had a camera handy to show you guys, but this time I had the, admittedly poor, video camera on my Blackberry. Take a look -- she's getting very close to walking on her own; we have another video I'll post later of her standing up on her own.

Eat on the Fly
As you know, Finley is terribly fond of eating -- everything and often. Whenever Shelley or I start to eat, the dog line up to beg for our food. Recently, Finley has joined them; she stands next to us and reaches for whatever we are eating.
Today at Target, we were grocery shopping and she became very cranky. An employee stocking the produce area handed Fin a banana to eat, which you can see from the picture she happily did. Just so you don't believe we are neglecting her, she had part of her own sub sandwich an hour before we got to the store.

American Girl Store
It is has been a couple of weeks since our last post -- I apologize. There really haven't been much going on, which has been part of the delay. Nevertheless, last week Nana Pat and her cousin Lauren came to Chicago to celebrate Easter. While they were here we went to the Rainforest Cafe on Friday night, where Lauren and Finley LOVED the fish tanks. However, the highlight was Lauren's birthday lunch at the American Girl store at Watertower Place downtown. It seems Finley is VERY fond of the peppermint ice cream.
